The Helsinki-born Young Designer of the Year spent the most of his childhood in Japan, the home country of his father. The cultural influence of both of the countries can be seen in his work, Finnish and Japanese roots are combined into an exiting combination of pure and simple form, function, origami-styled solutions as well as changing materials and techniques.
Having studied in the Department of Interior Architecture and Furniture Design of the University of Art and Design Helsinki since year 1996 he felt the need to approach the hectic world of fashion and started his studies in the Department of Fashion and Textile Design year 1998.
